As in the song "Lawyers In Love" we have a land, a nation with too many in high places willing to do anything for money neglecting people, honor and principle but a change is coming. No more falling for the lie of living only individualistic and independent lives leaving us divided and conquerable by powerful special interests but a people, a nation collaborating for the greater common good in various groups all across the nation. A land of people working together to help one another with a vision moreover as Jesus would have us be. Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Kindness....something about another Land. The change is coming

Dramatize This

We watch on TV every night and the debate is about Bush's latest gaffe or whether this ad is right or wrong! Yea, that's right, anything but a to the point discussion so that we the people can nail down the parameters of an issue. Just reconsider what you have learned from cbs,cnn etc. in the last 3 months on the issues. Everything but the issues have been dramatized as if we should not get excited about them. Then they take a poll and turn around and tell us the people are not that interested in issues, using that for a justification of sensationlistic pablum. For at least half of the last eight years we have had O.J. stuffed down our throats continually even after polls finally said we were tired of it. And most of the rest has been about Clinton's sex life or parade's of continued allegations over everything else in his life that never come to anything.
Consider for a moment how these stories have been dramatized and every detail articulated for our public entranced attention. Then consider just how explosive and alarming the dramatization of congress's legalized bribery would be if the corporate media would in fact dramatize the details of what goes on in congress. Imagine them setting the same tone against individual congressman's "influence voting record" the way they did against the President on
mostly personal affairs. They certainly don't consider those more important but they know they( the corporate owned media) cannot bring campaign softmoney to bear without jeopardizing tons of advertisizing dollars from the same corportions who benefit and depend on the tilted influence of softmoney in congress. The point is the media keeps the public conscience at bay with peripherial issues so that no agenda can develop that might influence or jeopardize the control of the corporate elite. The bottom line is that they say people are just not interested in the important issues. The truth is if they dramatized and articulated those issues the way they do smut tabloid stories the people would likely be up in arms over the corrution that exists in this country and congress today. The media just chooses what they want to make interesting to the american people. It doesn't take a degree from
Oxford to see what they're true interests are.
