Ran From The Fight unable to Walk the Talk

It was a gracious and magnanimous speech from Al Gore but a sorry day for this country. Unfortunately we have to stomach a man who lost the vote of the people by 400,000 and used the courts to keep thousands of americans votes from being counted so that he could become president. George should receive no honor from any american citizen but will because of our tradition. He does't deserve any until he is in. As I sat there watching Gore and then the shifty eyed George who could barely look us in the eye for all his depending on the teleprompters at each side I wondered how a man who had done what he had done and got away with so much could ever be looked up to by the people let alone others around the world who would aspire to our ideal of self-determined government. And to think he said he wanted to return integrity and honor to the Whitehouse. He wanted to be elected leader in a country where the voice of it's people elect but then tried to decline and even impair that very voice. Then with the help of judges beholding to his own dad he kept those voices silenced. That he would even carry on with those efforts in this light perhaps suggests he should forfeit his right to any of the benefits of citizenship in this country let alone be elected it's president. And this man would request our respect. I know of many friends and acquaintences that I could not believe would ever use these kind of tactics to achieve such an end. Tough words but it is apparent we have been shamed as a country by the unscrupulous ambitions of one man and his operatives who would put quest for power over the fundamental principals of that power.
