This Christmas pray for the children. Pray for the children abducted through child slave trafficking, a little child ignored one day in the mall rush or a lost one in Thailand. Pray for the children of Iraq where chaos and death is a constant companion. For the children of Darfur and the Sudan where genocidal violence, disease and starvation are daily staples. For the orphans especially the new orphans for whom terror of tragedy is a new nightmare. For the children of New Orleans, many who even now are without homes. For the children who know only a cold and indifferent world, an investment in prayer without price. For the children of divided families. And pray for our own children, that they remember the right things and forget the wrong things this Christmas. Rememberence of all these may not immediately boost our christmas cheer but the blessings we receive from these prayers will far outweigh anything else we get as we sit amonst the abundance of the season. A little time out for these little ones will fill our hearts with the greatest gift of all, God's love.
May the true peace and joy of Christmas abound to us all.
