Holding Up George W. Bush With Ol' Spiritual Pride

I recently witnessed religious programming trying to whitewash George W. Bush's presidency by comparing his faith to presidents like Washington and Lincoln :)...what else can one do but laugh. I understand trying to protect anothers Christian commitment as one thing but doing so with a little discretion would add some desperately needed credibility where it has been in woeful short supply. Will they ever learn just how badly one's faith can become entangled with errant politics that lead to disastrous government. They lived it and experienced it and should be eager to articulate that sorry experience so other fledgling Christian politicians can avoid it but no they just praise G.W. Bush in glowing terms and nearly fervent passion :)... gotta laugh again. You would think that after such a miserably failed administration they would stay far from this president and his national debacles but stubborn spiritual pride can make some do the craziest things and the religious right have become prime examples of that. They still can't believe they were wrong and still can't believe it happened the way it did but the land of denial is no land to go back to.
