With the families of Newtown making heartfelt pleas and the clear majority of the nation behind the new gun bill Congress ignored all that and voted down the gun legislation today.
What you have are large corporations that can spend all the money they want in elections and so threaten congressmen with that money if the congressmen don't do what they, essentially the rich and powerful want. The vote and opinion of the American people have once again been circumvented by money. When congress sucks up and cowers down before these wealthy corporate entities such as the NRA they further shove themselves down the toilet of public opinion. Don't you clearly see? The congress does not care what you think, they care what the NRA thinks and threatens to do to keep them from being re-elected. What you will do because the congress does not follow your will matters less with each passing day. There is no clearer evidence before you today that demonstrates that your government has been bought out from under you.
You the American people consistently rate far down on your list of most important issues the issue of lobby reform and campaign contribution money but it is these two issues that keep the other issues you desperately care about from being inacted. You get it now? Your most important national issue should be and must be lobby reform and campaign reform first right now, then and only then will you get what you believe in. Then and only then will you get your government back.
Shout it from your housetops and shout it from the mountain tops.
Aren't you fed up?
God is and He wants government with integrity not corrupted by money. Those who get on the right side of this issue for lobby and campaign reform have God on their side.
You just might want to take advantage of this. You'll get your truly modest and reasonable gun bill and thats just for starters.
