As in the song "Lawyers In Love" we have a land, a nation with too many in high places willing to do anything for money neglecting people, honor and principle but a change is coming. No more falling for the lie of living only individualistic and independent lives leaving us divided and conquerable by powerful special interests but a people, a nation collaborating for the greater common good in various groups all across the nation. A land of people working together to help one another with a vision moreover as Jesus would have us be. Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Kindness....something about another Land. The change is coming

Are The Democrats Electability Tone Deaf?

As it stands now the next president is going to be a Republican. The Democrats appear to be making sure of that. By leaving emotion out of the analysis the demographic landscape that worked for Bush in 04 should work for Mike Huckabee this time out but not because the nation wants a Religious Right Republican in the Whitehouse but because the Democrats are trying so hard to make it happen.

What is amazing is that with the public clearly wanting more Democrats in congress and a democratic president the Democrats tempt the race issue and tempt the gender issue by offering candidates that, come any terrorst flareup, will clearly be on very thin ice come November. What can they possibly be thinking? With an excellent chance to regain the Whitehouse they offer up candidates that will be seriously challenged in the heartland of America the very place they lost the last election. All the democrats have to do is offer up a viable candidate and they will probably win. Gore, Biden, Edwards, Dodd matched with a strong on defense Democrat should all be winners but no, the Democrats choose to tempt fate with an African American of one years experience in congress and a polarizing ex-first lady with several polls having shown that 50% of the voters would not vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstances, any circumstances.

The Democrats are certainly displaying their gall by putting up their dream cultural breakthrough prospects for the offing but there is a lot on the line in this country, a lot that needs to be corrected after the last incredibly misguided corrupt 8 years and this is no time to be playing around with top of the wish list candidates.
Look at the position papers of all the top republican candidates and you will see much too similarity to Bush policies. McCain supports reform of the money corruption in politics and Huckabee has a populist bent, a little populist bent that the media way overhypes, but outside of that and looking at where they come down on the issues they will end up making little change in our government. McCain would have to offend the establishment big corporate donors of the Republican party in order to clean up government so there is alot of downward pressure against him on that. I would have it that Huckabee would come down correctly on the issues but the Republican party line is just too problematic to make the changes we must have now. Being a political independent I usually go for the best man for the job but this time we need a serious overhaul of many policies, policies fundamental to the U.S. Constitution and our citizens rights. A democratic congress and democratic president will be needed to make those changes or perhaps an independent president of course depending on who it it is. The Democrats need to sober up to the coming political realities because if not, the coming post primary national election polls throughout the country will be a cold afront and a wake up call too late.

The Religious Right must surely be convinced that God has sent strong delusion upon the Democrats so that Mike Huckabee can become the next president. One can hear the intra-church rhetoric already.
