Already coming out of the mouth of Romney before a large national audience under the pretense of a bipartison spirit are lies and deception about keeping one of the most popular provisions of the Affordable Care Act-the exclusion of pre-existing conditions.
He stated he wants to keep this provision and will make sure that people with pre-existing conditions can get coverage but after more scrutiny from reporters his campaign came back and said that what he means is that people who already have insurance will not lose their coverage because of a pre-existing condition. Huh?
The problem with that? This is what we already have and have had for 15 years. Romney's declaration is not about the law against pre-existing conditions in the Affordable Care Act, it is the law we have had in place since 1996 stating that those with healthcare coverage-notice the law is about those priviledged to already have health insurance-cannot lose their health insurance because of a pre-existing condition. The Affordable Care Act states you cannot be denied health insurance because of a pre-existing condition.
Here again Romney is really about taking care of the haves and Obama is about taking care of the have-nots which is moreover what the Affordable Care Act is about.
So is this going to be the level of honesty and credibility in Romney's on going campaign? The Republicans must try to package their rightwing agenda under headlines of "new efforts toward a bipartisan stance" but it takes little investigation to see this is just another Republican canard.
If the Republican base, that is watching closely, does not get out and vote the Republicans will be hurting so it is YOU that must be deceived. Get ready for the great whitewash.
