Obama again wins big with 332 to 206 electoral votes including both Ohio and Florida and gets a clear popular vote victory 52% to 48%. Obama blew it away with young voters repeating the widespread support he got from them in 2008. If anyone thought the youth had lost their support and enthusiasm for Obama they were wholy wrong.
Democrats also gained across the board picking up 2 critical seats in the U.S. Senate and 5 in the House of Representatives. Democrats won every senate battle state except one.
Obama also took every one of Romney's "home"states in Michigan, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Most notably for this blogger is the pick up in Massachusetts of Elizabeth Warren for the Senate that will lead the fight for consumers against corruption and abuse from Wall Street. The 99% have a friend in Warren.
God is concerned about many issues but I believe He has had it with the widespread corruption which skews towards the wealthy across this nation including the fact that far too many that call themselves Christian come down on the side of and favor policies that exacerbate that corruption. It is as if Christians especially on the rightwing have lost all sensitivity to the plight of the poor in the name of a self-serving, money serving ideology.
God cares about people and wants them to know He cares for them and so if those that should demonstrate that care will not then He will support those in power that do regardless of that person's imperfection. That person is President Obama.
President Obama will narrow the gap between rich and poor by raising taxes on the very rich and providing desperately needed health insurance to the poor. I mean, what a sorry witness for a supposedly Christian nation when even some nations in sub-sahara Africa have a smaller gap between rich and poor than the U.S. never mind Russia and China's smaller gap relative to ours.
God raises Obama up again because he fights for the poor and for all of us.
