There is only one thing that did not happen on Feb. 15, 2013 and that is a coincidence. Either there was a coverup to keep the public from knowing about the possible impact of asteroid 2013 DA14 and the attempt to intercept it or we witnessed a mighty sign from God. As a Christian this is how i interpret it but i would think even an agnostic that believed in a superior intelligence or alien intelligence out there should consider this some kind of a sign, indication or at least a bump on the shoulder. Two once in a lifetime asteroid events did not happen on the same day out of mere chance and so with independent verification that asteroid 2013 DA14 passed unabated across earths orbit this means that the asteroid that exploded over Russia was a sign from God relative to probably one of two postulates. First relative to the Pope's resignation and election of Pope Francis or possibly as a sign of a larger asteroid on collision course with Earth or sea change tipping point in the climate but make no mistake it is surely a sign as the scriptures say "there will be signs in the heavens". I'am not certain the second possiblity is a coming asteroid or something bad but it is a sign of something and you can be sure the government and the churches are working on what it could be an indication of. The only ones asleep on it are the masses that are no longer talking about it as if it was just another passing chapter of American Idol or some soap opera that is now irrelevant but of course the governments and their attending financial markets are glad to see the issue out of the public discourse and the public calm, all so voluntarily and unmanipulated of course :)

The Pope's resignation is the most provocative. The universal church, as the Catholic Church defines itself, has been prominent on the earth for most of Christ's post-earthly life history. When the disciples that were present when Constantine began the early Catholic Church fell in line with the concept the only real Christians out there essentially became the beginnings of the Catholic Church. The believers and spiritual descendants of Peter, Paul and the disciples essentially fed the early Christian church into the Catholic(universal) paradigm so for over 1500 years the Catholic church was the only legitimate Christian church on earth. I state that so that no one take the Catholic church too lightly with regard to apparent true Christian origins.
The pope was the worlds designated Christian spiritual leader for centuries. Either God was shut out or He was working on and with this spiritual leader. I believe the later since God even worked with leaders of the residing pagan cultures throughout history as we know from the Bible.
When today's Pope Benedict resigned from the Papacy it was a event that had not occured in over 600 years since 1415 which is before Christopher Columbus discovered America or even before Columbus had been born.
In 1415 that pope resigned because there was a controversy over several pope's claiming the Papacy. That pope did not resign because he found the job itself too taxing. Every pope just as Pope Benedict knew and understood carries the cross until death. Pope Benedict full well knew that toward the end of life he would not be as strong as before but knew his duty. Simply put the resignation of Pope Benedict is a much bigger deal that you might think so it is very possible that God sent the sign of a resigning star with fallout to follow the resigning Pope and the eminent spiritual fallout. The star(asteroid) made a big impact the likes we have not seen since 1908 so also this Pope's resignation is profound relative to history and recent controversies in the church. I would think that the occurence of two once in a lifetime asteroid events on the same day four days after the leader of the Christian church on earth resignes for the first time in 600 years would be a significant event on earth and in heaven. The Russian asteroid tells us that God is on the job but many don't want to hear it and you can't blame the media for taking a reticient posture relative to the Russian asteroid. Occuring at once all across America is the gigantic white elephant in the room of not wanting to talk about the potential relavence of the asteroid event but how so embarrassingly obvious and strangely accepted but on to what all this means.
The asteroids are incredibly profound on their own and if that is what is most significant here then we as a human race should be exploring just what it means. If the papacy is related to this then it can simply mean that God sent a sign relevant to the pope's resignation or it could be more aligned with the ascendacy of Pope Francis which is the first pope from the "new world", the first Jesuit Pope and in my opinion the first pope in a very long time that is saying the kind of things that a pope should be saying in this falling self-centered greed clutched world. It could also mean that the time of the papacy has come to it's end. There are some in both the catholic and protestant camps that believe previous church prophecies declaring the last pope will follow a pope with the sign of the olive tree and Benedict has been tied to that. Whatever the asteroid event means it must be a sign from God indicating or demonstrating something and it doesn't have to be a bad sign or warning but could be the indication of some new kind of beginning but with the shape the world is in we should be appropriately diligent.
According to the Bible there is supposed to be signs in the stars and the heavens and so if two once in a lifetime "star" events occuring on the same day is not a sign then I have not ever seen a sign. This sign may not be under discussion in open public discourse because of certain fears but I know it is under discussion in the heart.
All I would say is stop ignoring it. Accept it and face it. It is in fact some kind of guide to our salvation and a chance most probably at deliverence from a coming darkness in this world.
